love it! June 28, 2010 keith (NJ) Love this connector! It always bothered me that it was hard to find a dock connector that provides a line out, not amplified, signal. That product is here!
Works, but not truly iPhone compatible March 16, 2010 Roger Davies (Windsor, CO USA) I bought this to hopefully improve the sound quality from my iPhone, which it does, and to simplify connecting to stereo/ car. It is simpler, but it is like many other older devices that indicates it is not designed to work with the iPhone. I looked several times and saw only that it was compatible, so that was disappointing. As a result, it's been relegated to a car attachment only.
Pocket Dock Line Out March 4, 2010 4TA (STERLING, VA, US) I did a lot of research on trying to find a easy way to connect my IPOD to my home stereo. Using the headphone jack into the AUX Input doesn't cut it. Horrible sound and you have to crank up the volumes on the stereo and IPOD.
The PocketDock is an easy fix to this problem. This device taps into the IPOD Line Out circuitry and it is a direct output from the device output amplifier. Sounds great out of my home stereo, car radio (Aux In), and an older Bose Waveradio.
If you are looking for an easy way without a lot of bells and whistles this is a good solution.
Not for iPhone 3GS October 23, 2009 W. Lawrence Lauck (Dallas, Texas) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am sure this works great for ipods, but it does not work for the new iPhone 3GS. I hooked it up to my home stereo and no sound. After I jiggled the connection for a bit it worked, but who wants to do that each time. Also, the plug will not attach to the iPhone if you have a protective case because the plug it too fat. Of course your charger plug works fine because it is thinner. Now I need to find out if the mini will work.
outstanding little gadget for iPod Touch 2G June 30, 2009 Daniel Conaway (Glen Ellyn, IL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted a "high-quality-audio" (line-out) option between my iPod Touch and the car stereo AUX input, not just a lame earphone-jack-to-radio connection ... this device does the trick. You can use a standard USB A-B cable to charge at the same time you're listening -- OR NOT, and just run off the iPod battery --
A second RCA-to-3.5 mini stereo cable in the package lets you plug into the back of an unused port on your home stereo, giving you a cheap high-quality alternate to a docking station.
Highly recommended.
